among which are freight transport and ship handling to secure European supplies.

The Port Authority would like to thank everyone for their commitment in meeting this new challenge. Freight handlers, dockers, ship services (pilots, mooring operators, tugs), logistics specialists, carriers, shipping agents, forwarding agents and shipowners, as well as the Port's operational teams and safety and security staff. Thanks to their exemplary efforts, the Port of Marseille Fos is in a position to serve its customers and move goods.

Business continuity

The Port will continue to be open to all cargo vessels. The Marseille Fos Port Authority has activated its business continuity plan in order to introduce an organization that ensures both the safety of employees and the continuity of its essential missions.

The operations that are indispensable to ship handling, maintaining industrial and logistics activities, and the safety and security of people and goods are provided by the teams within the framework of an appropriate organization and in strict compliance with health regulations.

In line with these instructions, the Port is continuing all its missions involving ship handling and the transit of merchandise:

Ship services: ship services are operational, with teams organized in accordance with government directives.

Handling: all cargo handling terminals (containers, roro, car carriers, solid bulk, breakbulk, liquid bulk) are operational. In compliance with health regulations, each terminal has set up an organization geared to its particular activity.

Industry and logistics: The Port is able to meet its customers’ demands by adapting to the changing expectations of companies. The rail and road logistics chain is running smoothly to ensure the transit of freight to the hinterland. Services are tailored to suit the volumes to be transported. Inland waterway traffic has been partly affected by the closure of the Sablons lock (Isère) until 28 March (indicative date given by the CNR).

• State control services on goods and ships: The Customs, the sanitary services and the Border Police are operational having adapted their organization to the regulatory instructions.
